BELLA VISTA - Billy F. Ashmore, 83, of Bella Vista died May 8, 2008, at Fayetteville. He was born Nov. 23, 1924, to Nannie Kidd and Alvin Ashmore in Choctaw.
He graduated from Morrilton High School in 1942 and served in the Army during World War II. He retired from Shell Oil Co. in Deer Park, Texas, after 38 years and returned to Arkansas in 2006. He enjoyed golf and horse racing.
Survivors include two sons, Billy L. Ashmore and James L. Ashmore, of Fayetteville; one daughter, Susan A. Ashmore of Springfield, Mo.; one grandson, Evin Ashmore Davis of Springfield.
A private burial service will be held at Fayetteville National Cemetery.
