Funeral of Mrs. Higley Held Yesterday Afternoon From the Home.
__Relatives and many near and dear old friends assembled yesterday at the home of Mrs. Elmer A. Higley to pay the last earthly tribute of love and respect to the late Mrs. Annah Bishop Higley. Mrs. Higley, in her many years of residence in Cedar Rapids, had won the sincere affection of all who knew her and her friends were numerous. The house was filled with most beautiful flowers, great quantities being sent as friendship's testimonies. The simple and impressive service of the Christian Scientist was conducted by the First Reader of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Mrs. Clara D. Lyman. It consisted of readings from the Bible, from Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by the Rev. Mary Baker G. Eddy, silent prayer, and the audible repetition of the Lord's prayer. The hymns, "Shepard, Show Me How to Go" and "Lead, Kindly Light" were sung by Mrs. Hadwen. Interment was at Oak Hill cemetery and the pall-bearers were Mrs. Higley's sons and grandsons.
