Joseph T. (Butch) Zakulec, East Shawnee Avenue, Plymouth, died Wednesday in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. He was born in Plymouth and was the son of the late Stanley and Sophie Wielgos Zakulec. He was a graduate of Plymouth High School and was a member of St. Mary's Nativity Church, Plymouth.


Prior to his retirement, he had been employed as a ground-skeeper by Wyoming Seminary, Kingston and previously at the Veterans Administration, Philadelphia. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the African, Middle Eastern and European theaters. He was a member of Plymouth Post 1425, veteran oi Foreign Wars and Plymouth American Legion Post 463. He was preceded in death by a sister, Julia Lepkoski and a brother, Frank.


Interment will be in parish cemetery, Plymouth Township. Friends may call Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.

A prayer service will be held on Friday.
