Dorothy Gish Carter, age 83, of Amelia, widow of Leslie C. Carter Sr., died on Saturday, May 10, 2008.
She is survived by a daughter, Brenda Carter Rowe and her husband, Linwood; three sons, Leslie C. Carter Jr. and his wife, Liz, who was her dedicated caregiver, Linwood Allen Carter and Daryl Ray Carter and his wife, Patricia; five grandchildren, Gregory Lance Rowe, Christine Carter Schabowsky, Leslie C. Carter III, Tracy Rowe Haskins and Amanda Carter Snow; four great-grandchildren, Joshua Haskins, Morgan Haskins, Brittany Marie Snow and Dustin Wayne Snow.
Mrs. Carter was a retired sales clerk with J. C. Penney.
The family received friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, May 12, 2008, and Tuesday, May 13, 2008, at the Chesterfield Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 14301 Ashbrook Parkway, where funeral services was conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2008. Interment Dale Memorial Park.
