James Edward Moore, 58, died at a favorite vacation spot, Virginia Beach on June 24, 2017.

He was born in Charlotte on August 23, 1958 to the late Isaiah Moore and Lois Jefferson Moore. His siblings, James A., David, Isaiah, Paulette, and Sarah Moore preceded him in death. James attended Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools where he played football and graduated in West Charlotte "WC" Class of '76. He was employed by Venatar.

James accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Little Rock AME Zion Church, where he was a member of the usher board.

"Moe", as he was known by many, married his childhood sweetheart Lorna Antionette Thompson, of Charlotte, in 1982. From this union, they gave birth to two awesome sons, Jason and Jared. In addition, they are raising Israel Isaiah Irvin. James stood in the gap following the passing of siblings, where he served as dad to "his girls", Scottlon Moore and Ashton Cooper.

James loved family and friends beyond words. He also loved to cook. His favorite breakfast was waffles with fresh strawberry compote, grits, cheesy eggs, bacon and sausage. Sunday dinner (buffet) was the highlight of everyone's weekend! His favorite sports teams were the Oakland Raiders and UNC Chapel Hill – Men's Basketball. Lastly, James was the epitome of a GQ magazine cover model, with his attire, cologne, matching hats and shoes!

In addition to the love of his life for over 40 years, Lorna, of the home, James is survived by three sons, Jason Isaiah Moore (Brittany), of Charlotte, Jared Samuel Moore (La-Tesha) of Honolulu, Hawaii and Israel Isaiah Irvin, of Charlotte; a sister, Louise Moore, of Charlotte, NC; three grandsons, Jadon Matthews, Julius White and Jaxon Moore; one granddaughter, Kelis White of Rock Hill, SC; and a best friend, Ronald Grant. He also has a host of relatives and friends who he adored dearly.
