DAVENPORT (TNS) Pauline A. Brown, 68, of Davenport died Tuesday at Bryan Memorial Hospital in Lincoln.

Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in the United Methodist Church at Davenport with the Revs. C. J. Willis and Mark Schutt officiating.

Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. in the Chester Cemetery at Chester.

Mrs. Brown was born July 17, 1918, in Republic County, Kansas and attended the Chester schools. She married Wayne L. Brown Aug. 28, 1940.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church and treasurer for the United Methodist Women. A past president of the Clay County Women's Club in Edgar, she was a member of the Bible study group in Davenport and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Surviving are her husband, Wayne of Davenport; two sons, Larry and David, both of Lincoln; two daughters, Mrs. Larry (Jana) Muller of Bellevue and Mrs. Rod (Margie) Holtzen of Davenport her mother, Hannah Sherwood of Davenport; one sister, Maryann Alloway of Westport, Conn.; four brothers,
Gail Sherwood of Merced, Calif., Don Sherwood of Rialto Calif., Max Sherwood of Carroll, Iowa, and Leland Sherwood of Peru; 13 grandchildren; and three stepgreat-grandchildren.

The Urbauer Funeral Home at Davenport is in charge of arrangements.

Pauline A. Brown, one of six children born to Harley G. Sherwood on July 17, 1918 on a farm in Republic County, Kansas near Chester, Nebraska. She passed away at the Byron Memorial Hospital in Lincoln on October 7, 1986 at the age of 68 years, two months and 20 days.

She attended Chester schools and spent most of her childhood in the Chester area. On August 28, 1940 in Longview, Washington she was married to L. Wayne Brown. This marriage was blessed with three sons and two daughters.

She was baptized into the Christian Church and later became a member of the United Methodist Church, was treasurer of United Methodist Women, past president of Clay County Women's Club in Edgar, a member of Davenport Women's Club, a member of Davenport bible study group and a past member of the Edgar P.T.A. and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors include her loving and faithful husband Wayne; two sons, Larry and David, both of Lincoln; two daughters, Jana, Mrs. Larry Muller of Bellvue (sic), NE, and Margie, Mrs. Rod Holtzen of Davenport, NE; her mother, Anna Sherwood of Davenport; four brothers: Gail Sherwood of Merced, CA, Don Sherwood of Rialto, CA, Max Sherwood of Carroll, Ia., and Dr. Leland Sherwood of Peru, NE; and one sister, Mary Ann Alloway of Westport, Conn.; 10 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 3 step-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Graveside services were held Saturday, October 10, 1986 from the United Methodist Church in Davenport, NE, with Rev. C.J. Willis and Pastor Mark Schutt officiating. Music was provided by Nila Onnen and Ruth Mesloh singing "Amazing Grace", "The Lord's Prayer" and "23rd Psalm." Organist was Holly Schoming. Casketbearers were Wesley Mosier, Wendel Mosier, Verlin Mosier, Richard Mosier, Scott Shelburne and Gary Kubicek. Burial was in the Chester Cemetery, near Chester, NE.
