A Mass of Christian Burial for Alfred Henry "Fred" Martin was held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Tioga Father George Krosfield officiated. A Rosary was held Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. in the chapel of Hixson Brothers, Pineville. Burial was Wedensday, May 14, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Ball.
Mr. Martin, 77, of Tioga, died Monday, May 12, 2008 at Rapides Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Colfax, Louisiana on October 1, 1930. He served in the United States Air Force for 4 years during the Korean War. He retired from England Air Force Base Civil Service with 30 years of service as a Contracting Officer. He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Tioga.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 53 years, Molly Evelyn Martin of Tioga; his son, Fred LeRoy Martin and wife, Peggy; his daughters, Rita Martin Pousson and husband, Kevin and Alesia Martin Harmson all of Pineville; his grandchildren, Kari Johnson Cook and husband, Eric of Alexandria, Lori Johnson Barnidge and husband, Michael of Temple, Texas, William and Callie Martin, Joey, Jeremy, Justin, Alayna Harmson all of Pineville; his great granddaughter, Elizabeth Cook of Alexandria and his sister, Adeline Leibrich of Indianapolis, Indiana.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William A. and Bessie Jones Martin and his brothers, William A. Martin, Jr., and Roy Martin.
Pallbearers were Joey Harmson, William Martin, Jeremy Harmson, Eric Cook, Justin Harmson and Virgil Brumley, Jr.
Honorary Pallbearers were Kevin Pousson and Michael Barnidge, Jr.
