CADDO MILLS - Funeral services for Samuel Rush Ard, 85, of Clinton, were conducted Saturday at the Rentfrow Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Shaddox officiating.

Burial was in the Clinton Cemetery. He died Friday.

He was born Aug. 4, 1910 in Clinton to Samuel Rush and Nona Huffacker Ard.

He married the former Nita Melton April 13, 1929 in Greenville.

Mr. Ard was a farmer and a Methodist.

Survivors include his wife, Nita, of Farmersville; two sons, Carroll and wife Glenda Ard of Wylie and Ray, and wife Imogene Ard of Caddo Mills; two sisters, Adalia Bradberry of Arizona and Nona Coleman of Farmersville; seven grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and three sisters.

Pallbearers were Dustin Baker, Richard Baker, Steven Jones, Stephen Ard, Wade Womack, Kevin Morgan and Dan Lewis.
