Richard V. Bowden transitioned to eternal rest on Sunday, May 3, 2020. He was a loving husband, father, and brother. Richard was born on March 30, 1959, in Norfolk VA to Richard and Irene Bowden.

Growing up in Norfolk he received his early education in the public school system. Richard began working at Norfolk Yacht & Country Club as a bus boy. While working here Richard desired to learn to cook; the chef at the country club took him under his wings. To further his career, he traveled to New York to attend the New York City Culinary Institute. While there, he became a member of the American Culinary Federation (ACF).

Richard later moved to Northern Virginia and became the Executive Chef at Fairfax Country Club for 35 years. He shared his love for cooking by teaching cooking classes to students at Northern Virginia Community College. After leaving Fairfax County Club he became the Executive Chief at Heatherwood Retirement Assisted Living Community where he worked for 5 years.

Richard loved to ride his motorcycle and enjoyed hobbies such as fishing, working on various house projects, trains, and enjoying his grandchildren. "Chef Pete," as he was affectionately called, was a devoted and loving family man.
