She was born April 1, 1921, in Owatonna, Minn., the daughter of Fred S. and Grace E. Gardener Ring. An employee, and later owner of, Credit Bureau of Stuttgart, she will be much more remembered for her passion and art of cake decorating.
She loved her church, First Christian Church of Stuttgart, where she taught the SSS Class, was very active in Christian Women's Fellowship and was an Elder Emeritus.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, one sister, and her grandson, James Lamecy Helms.
Survivors are two sons, Michael J. Helms of Stuttgart and Fred Helms and wife Donna of Hazen; three daughters, Patricia Stanley and husband Kelly of Stuttgart, Linnea Sisco and husband R.D. of Conroe, Texas, and Grace Hankins and husband Robert of England; a sister-in-law, Marian Ring of Owatonna, Minn.; 15 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services, officiated by the Rev. Sherry Horton, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Christian Church with burial following in Lone Tree Cemetery.
