She was born in Durant, and was the daughter of Lester H. and Gussie Dee Martin. She grew up and attended school in the Arch Community. She married Frank Edward Suter on June 13, 1942, in McAlester. She was a homemaker and lived most of her adult life in Haileyville, Savanna, and Kiowa. She was a member of the Frink Baptist Church. Bessie is survived by her son, Ben Suter and wife Lana of Kiowa, OK, daughter-in-law, Barbara Sartor and husband Lee of Kiowa, OK; Nine grandchildren: Tiffany Dawn Wood and husband Clint of Kiowa, OK, Dustin Tyler Suter of Kiowa, OK, Bobby Gene Jr. and wife Jane of Kennedale, TX, Vickie Carr and husband Todd of Sallisaw, OK, Patricia Dobson and husband Gerald of Oklahoma City, OK, Pamela McAdam and husband Frankie of McAlester, OK, Tammy White and husband Vince of Caney, OK, Jason Woods of Indianapolis, IN, Michelle Sconce of Oklahoma City, OK; Fourteen Great- Grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Suter; son, Bobby Gene Suter; daughters, Katheryn Louise Sconce, and Virginia Carol Casey; infant grandson, Joseph Casey; parents, Lester and Dee Martin, and brothers, Jesse Martin, and James Hoyt Martin. Funeral services will be May 16, 2008, at Kiowa Cemetery Pavilion with the Rev. James Collins officiating. Burial will be at Kiowa Cemetery under the direction of Chaney-Harkins Funeral Home of McAlester.
