I was born in a little white house. There was a doctor in attendance,

but no anesthesia and a very natural childbirth. After the little white house where I was born, near the Miller Ranch. We moved east to the Bogg's place. We rented there for maybe 2 years. We

also had a local teacher living with us there to help pay the rent. I don't

recall much about that place since I was only two or three. So we got ahold of some money and bought some of Dan Kowel's land.

And that is where dad built a house. Dad or Uncle Harry built a see-saw

for us kids. In those days we had a box camera and there is a picture of us

kids on it. There is another picture of a horse named Alice. 5 of us kids

were on it. I got a bowl cut the same as Lou. (Exerpts from Helen's autobiography. )
