Services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 20, 2008, at Watson Funeral Home in Eldorado with the Rev. Dennis Vaughn officiating. Burial will be in Lindale Cemetery. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 19, 2008, at the funeral home.
He was born Aug. 15, 1930, in Eldorado to E.J. and Mary (Walker) Davis. On Dec. 20, 1973, he married the former Janet Trigg, who survives.
He was self-employed in the grocery business, being one of the owners of Eldorado Food Center and later owning and operating The Deli in Eldorado. He was a member of Pleasant Valley Star General Baptist Church and graduated Eldorado Township High School in 1949. He belonged to the Men's Club.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Josh (Darci) Davis of Boynton Beach, Fla., Dirk (Linda) Tierney of Suwanee, Ga., and Bob Tierney of Mount Vernon; two daughters, Beth Tierney of Eldorado and Martina Kelly (Jeff) Davison of New Castle, Del.; a brother, David (Jana) Davis of Chester; a sister, Mary Jo (Jack) Harrison of Eldorado; and two grandchildren, Kyle and Quinn.
For those who desire, memorials may be made to Star Church or Eldorado Memorial Library.
