Ira Basehore, 81, Credit Union President
A memorial service for Ira Basehore, 81, of Palm Desert, will be held at 10:30 a/m. Friday at Hope Lutheran Church in Palm Desert.
Mr. Basehore, a native of Hershey, Pa., died Sunday at his home.
Mr. Basehore was vice president-treasurer of Oahu Transport Co. in Hawaii. He was a member of the Hope Lutheran Church in Palm Desert and an active member and past president of the Credit Union League in Hawaii.
Survivors include his wife, Kathryn; a son, Rod Basehore of Bermuda Dunes; a daughter, Laetitia Carmack of San Jose; a brother, Lee Basehore of Dallas; and two sisters, Katherine Huffman of Palmyra, Pa., and Alma Turner of Mechanicsburg, Pa.
The family suggests donations to the Basehore Scholarship Fund, c/o Hope Lutheran Church, 45-900 Portola Ave., Palm Desert, 92260.
Burial will be at Mountain Valley Memorial Park in Joshua Tree.
