William "Pat" Franklin, 81, of Pedro, Ohio passed away peacefully on Monday, November 20, 2023 at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, KY. He was born in Durbin, KY on April 12, 1942 to his late parents; William Lawrence Franklin and Charlene (Moore) Franklin. He is survived by his wife; Linda (McGuire) Franklin, whom he married in 1964.
Pat was a 1960 graduate of Boyd County High School. He was a proud member of the National Guard and worked as a Tinner at Armco/AK Steel. He was a devout Christian. He very much enjoyed gardening, cutting firewood, loved taking care of his animals and needling his grandchildren.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children; Rusty Franklin of Pedro and Melaney (Rick) Cox of Pedro, his grandchildren; Nikki (Sam) Shelton of Ironton, Kaiti (A.J.) Brown of Ironton, Jessi (Brandon) Wallace of Pedro, Amanda Cox of Pedro, his great-grandchildren; Cami Hall of Ironton, William Brown of Ironton and Soldier Shelton of Ironton, and a large extended family and numerous friends.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 25, 2023 with Kenny Kelley officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 S. 7th St. Ironton, OH. The family will be having a private burial at a later date.
