Macie Lou "Ruby" Bonds, age 73, of Grandview, WV went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley following a sudden illness.
Born on January 9, 1949, at Abraham, she was the daughter of the late Pauline Bragg.
Ruby, as she was known by family and friends was a homemaker, and a former employee of Dr. Rasheed. She was an active member of Stanaford New Beginnings Church. Ruby loved gardening, flowers, going to Tennessee, and sending cards to family and friends. She was an avid NASCAR fan, especially Richard Petty.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her first husband Leonard Blevins, grandchildren Lewis Dodson and April Dawn Blevins.
Those survivors left to cherish her memory include her loving husband, Eddie Bonds; her children, Melanie Plumley and husband Kenneth of Beckley, Rebecca Smith and husband Rev. Roger Smith Jr., of Beckley, and Leonard Blevins and companion Leslie Tanner of Beaver. A sister, Gracie Bennett of Cool Ridge; grandchildren, Jamie Blevins, Anthony Plumley, Chelsea Taylor, Nathan Smith, Skyler Smith, Jacob Blevins, Tristin Wolfe, Shayle Smith, and Jonathan Smith; a niece Lisa Ransom. She also leaves behind her very special friend, Judy Smith of Stanaford.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley on Saturday, August 13, 2022, at 1 PM with Pastor Lonnie Grear and Rev. Danny Helmondollar officiating. Burial will follow at the Meadows Cemetery at Shady Spring, WV. Friends may visit with the family from 7 PM until 9 PM on Friday at the funeral home.
