Maria Stuart Lott was born in the spring of 1852 in Liverpool, Lancashire, England, one of nine children of Edward George and Mary Ann (neé Storr) Lott. She married Herbert Ainsworth on January 9, 1878 in her hometown and they had a son, Ronald, who died in Prestatyn December 1914. Maria, widowed on New Year's Eve, 1920 when her husband died in Johannesburg, South Africa, died in either Highcliff-on-Sea (where her probate record says she lived) or Bournemouth (where her burial record says she lived & her death was registered) in Dorset, England on Sept 27, 1926 and was buried in Prestatyn. She was 74.
