Gladys Irene Pfeffer, 104, of Bellville, Texas passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2017 in Palestine, Texas. She was born in Bellville, Texas, on January 14, 1913, to Edwin and Myrtle (McCasland) Frank. She was united in marriage to Louis Pfeffer, on March 12, 1932, in Bellville and was married for 66 years until his death in April, 1998. Gladys was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and a member of the AARP. She was a full time mother and housewife until her later years when she went to work for Patsy Marek. She remained in Bellville and lived independently until after her 100th birthday. Gladys then moved to Slocum to be next to her daughter, Audrey, who assisted her while still allowing her to maintain her independence. She made many new friends while living in Slocum and became affectionately known as Granny.

Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a grandson Bobby Hudgins, her sisters; Evelyn Pritchett, Ruby Pfeffer, and Grace Schneider and her brothers Harold, Travis, Calvin and Brian Frank.

She is survived by her children; Myrtle Hudgins of Baytown, Audrey Davis of Slocum, and Larry Pfeffer (Lynn) of Lindale. grandchildren: Michael Davis of Slocum, Sharon Davenport (Jim), of Palestine, Alan Hudgins of Baytown, Steven Hudgins (Lainey) of Lago Vista, Cathy Hudgins of Baytown, Brenda DeLeon (Henry) of Hockley, Molly Escalante (Ryan) of Magnolia, and David Pfeffer of Victoria; great grandchildren: Katie, Annie, Paxton, Justin, Christi, Tyler, Allison, Madelyn, Ryan, and Ayden and many nieces and nephews.
