Lynn C. Paulson entered into eternal rest passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, after a short illness. He was born in Wyoming County Community Hospital in Warsaw, New York on August 7, 1946, the son of Frederick and Shirley Randall Paulson.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Aileen Paulson in 2021.

He was raised in Perry, attended Perry schools and was a graduate of Perry High School, Class of 1964. Lynn earned a Bachelor's Degree in education from SUNY Brockport, Class of 1968, and his master's degree in education from SUNY Brockport in 1973. He obtained his Certificate of Advanced Study in Educational Administration from SUNY Brockport in 1978.

Lynn worked for the Canandaigua City School District from 1968-2003, teaching Social Studies in grades 9-12. He was a part-time adjunct Supervisor of Student Teachers for Hobart and William Smith Colleges from 2004-2007.

Lynn was a Canandaigua City Councilperson for Ward 3 from 1980-1999. He was the City Historian for the City of Canandaigua, from 2000-present. Lynn was a member of the Ontario County Historical Society, Sonnenberg Gardens, The Granger Homestead and the Canandaigua Board of Assessment Review. He enjoyed reading and gardening.

Lynn is survived by two brothers, Wendell (Ann) Paulson and Leighton Paulson; four nieces and three nephews; grandnieces and grandnephews.

Friends may call on Friday, September 15, from 4 to 7 PM, at the Johnson-Kennedy Funeral Home, Canandaigua. Lynn's Interment will be at the Glenwood Cemetery in Perry.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ontario County Historical Society 55 North Main Street Canandaigua, New York 14424.

I grew up with Lynn in Perry. I remember him as being a warm, caring person. He was always friendly to us "little brats" and would play Monopoly, Old Maid and other games with us. I can still see him riding his english racer bike past our house, always with a wave and a hello. He and his whole family were a wonderful part of Perry and my neighborhood. I will always have fond memories of him.
