James Walter Huckleby, was born September 5, 1907, in Cave Spring, Georgia to Ulysses and Fannie (McCoy) Huckleby. He passed away on Sunday, April 3, 1977, at Grant Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
James was a retired lieutenant in the City of Columbus Fire Department after 33 years of service.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ulysses and Fannie Huckleby; four brothers and two sisters.
James is survived by his wife, Florene (Yokley) Huckleby; daughters, Charlene Sharp, Cecile Town, Walda Pittman, Karen Warrens; son, James Walter Huckleby, Jr.; sons-in-law, Hebert B Sharp, Michael Henry Warren; sisters, Ella B Jones, Harriett Anderson; 13 grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, many devoted friends and neighbors.
