Charles Marion Oleson was born in Houston, Harris County, Texas to Charles and Carrie (Meyers) Oleson. After his father was killed he was raised by a Fred Matchett. He married Margaret Anna Amanda Weaver 21 Aug 1899 in Marlin, Falls County, Texas while using the name Charles Matchett. He changed his name back to Oleson around 1915. Charles and Margarett raised 8 Children Heman, Gladys McFarland (adopted), Claude Oleson, Rufus Murry Oleson, Vestie Mae & Leslie Ray (twins) Vennie Velma and Matilda Mozelle Oleson
