She was born in Bucyrus on February 3, 1909, the daughter of George O. and Elizabeth (Zollinger) Dollard. When Faye was five years old the family moved to Greenwood County. She attended Union Grade School and Tonovay High School, graduating with the class of 1927. She attended college in Lincoln, Nev. After her schooling she returned to the farm in Greenwood County.
On October 23, 1943, she was united in marrigage to James Claud Scharff. They made their their home in California for eight years before moving to Eureka.
She accepted Christ at an early age and was a lifelong member of the Eureka Seventh Day Adventist Church, the Union HDU, the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the Greenwood County Historical Society.
She is survived by three nephews, Lloyd Boone of Iuka, Kermit Boone of Brownwood, Texas and Dale lyon of Englewood, Colo.; two nieces, Faith Butler of Eureka and Phllis Gable of West Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, February 2 at the Koup Family Funeral Home, with Dr. Terry L. Morris officiating. Interment followed in Greenwood Cemetery.
A memorial has been established in her name to the Eureka Seventh Day Adventist Church. Contributions ma be sent in care of the funeral home.
