Dorothy Adams, age 62, of Gulf Breeze, Fla., passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2008, at her home.
She was born in Oakland, Calif., on June 29, 1945, and was a longtime resident of Gulf Breeze. Mrs. Adams worked as a secretary and housekeeper for many years. Dorothy was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved the outdoors; she could find the beauty in anything.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, James Adams of Gulf Breeze; son, Huey Adams and wife Sara of Navarre, Fla.; stepson, Jerome Adams and wife Hatidzhe of Niceville, Fla.; grandchildren, Jimmy and Kali Adams; niece, Valerie Johnson and husband Jerry of Bakersville, Calif.; aunt and uncle, Alma and Curtis Newman of Frazier Park, Calif.; and cousins, Carol Hicks and Mark Newman.
A time of visitation will be held on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home.
The funeral will take place on Saturday, May 3, at 10 a.m. at Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home with the Rev. Carroll Senn officiating. Burial will follow at Old Bethel Cemetery in Crestview.
