Mrs. Clarence Vernon Fowler, wife of Prof. Clarence Vernon Fowler, died yesterday at the Washington Sanitarium in Tacoma Park, MD, after a year's illness.


Mrs. Fowler was educated at Ward-Belmont College, Nashville, Tennessee and Universite de Grenoble, France. She was a founder and president of the Annapolis Weekly French Club, president of the Annapolis and Anne Arundel County League of Women Voters, State chairman, international relations, Maryland Federation of Women's Christian Association, treasurer of the Girl Scout Council of Anne Arundel County, vice president of the Southern District Maryland Federation Women's Club, and on the State boards of the League of Women Voters and Maryland Federation of Women's Clubs.


She was the daughter of the late General H.M. Robert, chief of engineers, and author of Robert's Rules of Order. Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Bob Orr Matthews, wife of Lt. Commander Matthews; two grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs Corinne Robert Redgrave and Mrs. Helen Robert d'atria.
