James A. Leisure, 70, of Rushville, died Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2007 at Miller's Merry Manor.

Born May 16, 1936 in Rush County, he was the son of Jesse and Elizabeth (Blount) Leisure. He married Jearleen Thomas Jan. 27, 1983; she survives.

Mr. Leisure, a lifelong Rushville resident, was a 1954 graduate of Rushville High School. He received a B.A. in Education from Franklin College in 1958. He owned and operated Leisure Amusements for several years and also owned a car lot for several years. He was a member of Little Blue River Church of Christ.

Survivors in addition to his wife include one daughter, Brenda (Mrs. Larry) Gorman of Rushville; one brother, Ray Leisure of Rushville; one sister, Cindy (Mrs. Stephen) Hastings of Rushville; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one step daughter, Diane Warfield of Rushville.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Jasper Lynn Dudgeon Jr.; two step sons, Theodore and Larry Warfield; and one brother, Richard Leisure.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Todd Funeral Home in Rushville with John Skomp officiating. Burial will follow in Knightstown's Glen Cove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
