Jennie Louise Herridge was the oldest of eight children born to James Walter Herridge and Eva Huston Herridge.

Jennie had five Sisters and one Brother ~ Bessie, Ruth, Dorothy (Dorothy died when she was two years and five months old), Maurice, Juanita and Almeta.

At the age of 17 Jennie lost her beloved Mother who died giving birth to her baby brother Cecil who was stillborn.

Jennie quietly dedicated her life to raising her siblings and caring for her father who developed Alzheimers.
To some of her younger siblings Jennie was the only "Mother" they really knew. Almeta, the youngest, was only 2 years old when their Mother died.

Jennie enjoyed embroidery and painting fabric. She was an accomplished seamstress, Jennie made all her sisters dresses. She hosted many large family dinners at Thanksgiving and Christmas and other occasions.

Jennie was a member of Rebekah Lodge in Bluff City. Jennie lived in Bluff City or Caldwell all her life.

On October 8, 2002 at the age of 88, Jennie passed away in her sleep at the Phoenix House, where she lived for about the last four years.

Jennie never married, she was a wonderful daughter, sister and sweet and special aunt. She is truly missed by family and friends. Rest in the arms of Jesus, Sweet Jennie.
