Wilbert S. Baker, 83, of Monticello, died November 19, 1999 at Provena Covenant Medical Center in Urbana. Funeral services were held November 22 at Mackey-Wright Funeral Home with burial in Monticello Cemetery.

Mr. Baker was born December 1, 1915 in Somerset KY, s/o Bint L. and Cloda Weaver Baker. He married Florence Pelczar on February 20, 1946 in Benton ARK. She survives along with sons: Louie and Greg, both of Monticello; sister, Edna Gauamer of Winter Park FL; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.

Mr. Baker was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Monticello. He was a retired welder for Allis-Chalmers and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Memorials may be made to the church.
