Robert James Collins Sr., 79, of Laflin, PA, passed away on Saturday, April 28, 2007 in Plains Township. He was born on Monday, September 19, 1927 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Frank and Mildred (nee Brassel) Collins. Robert was a graduate of Brooklyn High School and served in the Army during World War II. He had resided in Laflin since 1984. Robert was self-employed as the operator of Northeastern Pennsylvania Carton Company in Moosic and also enjoyed camping and fishing. Beloved husband of Catherine (nee Green) Collins Sr. and the late Anna Marie (nee Smith) Collins. Devoted father of Frank Collins of Lake Ariel, Michael Collins of Pittston and Robert Collins of Long Island City. Loving grandfather of 5 grandchildren. Dear brother of Kenneth Collins of Duryea, William Collins of Long Island City, the late Estelle Collins, Frank Joseph Collins and Anne Bridget Nancy Collins. Visitation was offered on Sunday, April 29, 2007 from 2-5 and 7-9 PM at the Graziano Funeral Home, 700 South Township Boulevard, Pittston Township, PA 18640. The funeral services were arranged in the funeral home on Monday, April 30, 2007 at 9:30 AM followed by a blessing service officiated by Reverend Paul McDonnell O.S.J. Interment followed at Cathedral Cemetery in Scranton.
