Enlisted at 19 years old on 9/9/1862 at NYC. and was mustered into Co. "C", 139th N.Y. Inf. On 6/19/1865 he transferred into the 98th N.Y. Inf.. He was mustered out at Richmond, Va. on 8/31/1865.∼Retired from the Police Department in his 65th year. He had been sick since August but his death was unexpected. He died at the home of his niece, Mrs. C H Cochrane, 351 Macon St. Survived by a brother and two sisters. His brother R W Muldoon died two weeks ago at Glen Cove, NY.
