He graduated from East Syracuse-Minoa High School and attended Harpur College in Binghamton, NY. He was employed with the Oakland Unified School District. Roy was predeceased by his two sisters, Sharon Olcott Mott, in 1977 and Saundra Olcott Marvin, in 1997. He is survived by his parents, Ray and Eleanor Jordan Olcott of East Syracuse; two nieces, Jessika Marvin and Rebecca Marvin; and longtime friend, Eric Schmitt.
