Robert Cobb Myers was the son of Henry Earl Myers, born Sep. 5, 1886 in Ashland, Ohio and Edith Harriet Cobb, born March 13, 1886 in Newton, Mass., and were married in Newton, Mass. on Oct. 3, 1910.

He attended Culver Military Academy in Indiana, his Uncle Stanwood Cobb's private school in Chevy Chase, MD, studied international diplomacy in Geneva, Switzerland and attended Boston University where he eventually graduated summa cum laude (and where he met Olive Boutillier who was to become his wife). He also continued his education at Stanford University(M.A. and Ph.D. in Sociology), Univ of Wisconsin, and Univ of Oregon.

He worked for George Gallup who had started the famous Gallup Poll in Princeton, NJ, then for Educational Testing Service where he was greatly respected for his work, and also did some teaching at Princeton University.

In the early 1950's, he became very active in N.J. Democratic politics which led to his being employed by the State of N.J. Dept of Institutions and Agencies as Director of Mental Health Services.

In 1952 he divorced his first wife (Marion Olive Boutillier) and remarried to Eloise Janice Tupper

About 1955, Robert moved from Trenton, NJ to Columbus Ohio where he had accepted a position with a Federal Agency.
