As a youth, she moved with her family to the Osage area. Eileen graduated from Osage Community High School in 1958.
On July 30, 1961, she married Ewald W. Ehlke, Jr. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Osage. Eileen was a homemaker and farm wife. She was a member of Deer Creek Lutheran Church where she was a member of WELCA and various circles. She was also a member of St. Ansgar Music Mothers. Eileen enjoyed attending her children and grandchildren's music and athletic activities. She had a passion for making cakes and desserts that were requested by many. She was always looking in cookbooks for the next great dessert to make. Nothing was more precious to Eileen than her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Elnora Selvig; her brother, Robert Selvig; and her parents-in-law, Bernice and Ewald Ehlke, Sr.
Funeral services were held at Deer Creek Lutheran Church, rural Carpenter.
Burial at the Newburg Township Cemetery.
