Chico Daily Record, Wednesday Morning, July 2, 1913, pg 4 col 3: Members of G.A.R. and W.R.C. to Wed. Charles Hammon Lindsley, seventy-two years old, and Mrs. Margaret Wolverton, sixty-six years old, will be married at a public ceremony this evening at the Fourth Street Methodist church, Rev. C.E. Winning officiating.

The groom-to-be is a retired rancher of this section and is a prominent member of the Grand Army. Mrs. Wolverton is a member of the Woman's Relief Corps. She has made her home in this city at Ninth and Ivy streets.

The Methodist church will be decorated especially for the occasion by members of the W.R.C., the decorations to be of a patriotic nature. The ceremony is expected to be well attended by members of the G.A.R. and W.R.C.

The Chico Record, Saturday Morning, June 9, 1923, pg 1 col 4: Funeral Services Are Held For Veteran of Civil War. Funeral services for Charles H. Lindsley, 82, well known resident of this city and a member of the local chapter of the G.A.R., were held yesterday afternoon at the Westfall undertaking parlors. Rev. Henry Hoyt, of the First Methodist church, officiated. The interment was made in the local cemetery. Pall bearers were selected from the G.A.R. as follows: F. Loomis, D.M. Birdseye, S.M. Hostler, J.M. Mullen, C.C. Maltby and F. Popplewell.

In respect to the memory of their comrade, members of the Halleck Post, G.A.R., have adopted the following resolution:

"Whereas, it has pleased the dear Heavenly Father, in his boundless wisdom, to remove from this world of care, our beloved and honored comrade, Charles H. Lindsley; and,

"Whereas, the members of Halleck Post, No. 19, of Chico, of which he was a member, will sadly miss his presence, his ever faithful labors with us from fraternity, charity and loyalty and his wise and helpful counsel, therefore, be it
"Resolved, that while we bow in humble submission to the will of the blessed Master whom he so faithfully served, we realize that our loss is his infinite gain; and, be it further

"Resolved, that we extend to the bereaved wife and other relatives our sincere sympathy, and that a copy of these resolutions be presented to them, and also spread upon the records of our organization and printed in the Chico Record."
