Goldsboro, Sept. 28.- Miss Elizabeth Ann Allen, veteran teacher, died at 10:15 Friday night at the home of her sister-in-law, Mrs. W. R. Allen, Sr., following a lengthy
illness. She was 67 years old.

Funeral rites will be held from the residence, 116 South John Street, at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon, with the Rev. W. C. Ball, pastor of the St. Paul Methodist Church, of which the deceased was a member, in charge. He will be assisted by the Rev. W. R. Jones, pres!dent of Pine-land College.

Burial will be in the family plot in Willow Dale Cemetery. Surviving are two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Oliver Allen of Kinston and Mrs. W. R. Allen of Goldsboro, with whom she made her home; numerous cousins and these nieces and nephews: Conor Allen, Reynolds and William Allen, Mrs. Ben Barnes and Matt Allen, Williain Allen, Jr., Oliver Allen and Miss Mary Moore Allen, Goldsboro, and Mrs. John Duncan, Raleigh.

Miss Allen was a teacher for 39 years, seven years as a member of the faculty of Louisburg College, 13 years as a member of the faculty number of years at various public schools in the State.

The deceased was the daughter of the late Col. William A. Allen, legislator and prominent lawyer and Confederate soldier, and Maria Goodwin Hicks. Her family has been prominent in the State history since Colonial times. She was educated at the Lewis Academy, Kinston, and at Harvard, Columbia and the University of North Carolina.

She was the only sister of the late Judge Oliver Allen and Supreme Court Judge William R. Allen.
Miss Allen retired from teaching a month ago, returning to live with her sister-in-law.
She was active in the Daughters of the American Revolution and the United Daughters of the Confederacy.

The following have been selected las pallbearers: Reynolds and William Allen of Kinston, Leslie Brown of Warsaw, John Duncan, James E. Bryan and John W. Thompson of Goldsboro.
