CHARLES J. KAHRHOFF, SR., age 81, a resident of the Baumann Home for several years, died on Monday at noon in a local hospital. Private services will be held on Tuesday afternoon in the Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery, Denver, Colorado, on Wednesday.
Mr. Kahrhoff was born on December 11, 1882 in Saint Louis, Missouri to Mr. and Mrs. Charles J. Kahrhoff. He moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado for his health in 1905, then to Denver, Colorado in 1906. He owned and operated the Denver Barber and Beauty Supply Company until he retired in 1945.
Mr. Kahrhoff married Lillie Swanson in May 1908, and they had one son, Charles. She died in 1931. Mr. Kahrhoff later married Ida Johnston, and they lived in Denver, Colorado until 1959 when they came to Grand Island, Nebraska. She died in November 1961.
Mr. Kahrhoff was a charter member of the Exchange Club in Denver, Rob Morris Lodge 92 Ancient Free and Accepted Masons, Rocky Mountain Consistory No. 2, the Shriners, and the 33rd Degree Masons. He organized the Colorado DeMolay in 1921.
