WESTON — Charles Jacob Roth, 75, of 96 Valley Chapel Road, Weston, died on Sunday, Oct. 9, 2005, at Holbrook Nursing Home of Buckhannon following an extended illness. He was born in Newlon, WV, on Sept. 9, 1930, a son of the late William Roth and Clara (Burnside) Roth. On March 23, 1953, he married Doris Jean (Paugh) Roth, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters and son-in-laws, Carol Sue Currence and husband Bill of Rock Cave, WV, and Deborah Jean Rogers and husband Bill of Vadis and four sons and one daughter-in-law, Charles Michael Roth of Hurricane, WV, David Lee Roth and wife Susanna of Jacksonville, Fla., Johnny Wayne Roth of Weston and Kenneth Edward Roth of Valley Chapel. Mr. Roth is survived by one sister, Mary of Georgia, 16 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Fred, Ralph, Walter, Clifford and Johnny Roth.
Mr. Roth was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He drove truck for the Coca Cola Company for over 20 years. He drove school bus for Lewis County Board of Education. Mr. Roth was a member of the Valley Chapel United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in the U.S. Army. He loved gardening and yardwork.
Friends will be received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home, 730 N. Main Avenue, of Weston on Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2005, from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2005, at 1 p.m. from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Russell Furr officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens of Weston. Military graveside rites will be conducted by American Legion Post#166 and Post #4, VFW Post#5131 and Post#1976, and Chapter #697 MOPH.
