Regina Marie (nee Gallagher) Dzamba, age 88, a resident of New Milford, NJ for 63 years and a former resident of Queens, NY, died on Thursday, September 26, 2013. She worked for the County Board of Elections in Hackensack for over 25 years. Regina was a founding parishioner of Ascension Church in New Milford. She was known for her quick Irish wit and resilient spirit. Regina enjoyed spending time in Ocean Beach with her family, traveling with her daughter, Black Friday shopping with her grandchildren, and rooting for New York sports teams with her sons. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends. Beloved wife of the late Edward Dzamba. Devoted mother of Edward Dzamba II, Deirdre Pelz and her husband Marshall, and the late John Dzamba and his surviving wife Christine. Loving grandmother of Edward Dzamba III, his wife Gosia, and Katherine Dzamba. Cherished great-grandmother of Eddie IV. Regina was also the dear sister of George Dalton and the late Thomas, John, and Frank Gallagher. Visitation was offered on Sunday, September 29, 2013 from 4-8 PM at the Volk Leber Funeral Home, 268 Kinderkamack Road, Oradell, NJ 07649. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday, September 30, 2013 at 9:30 AM in the Ascension Roman Catholic Church, 256 Azalea Drive, New Milford, NJ 07646. Interment followed at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciated donations in her name to the Macula Foundation, 210 East 64th Street, New York, NY 10065.
