Alvin Powell Montgomery, of Havre de Grace, MD, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2023, at home surrounded by family. He was 86 years old.
Mr. Montgomery was born in West Grove, PA, to Walter Montgomery and Gertrude Whiteside Montgomery. He was the devoted husband of the late Carol Liedtke Montgomery, loving father of Charles Walter Montgomery (Esther) of Nottingham PA, and Judy Lynn Montgomery of West Grove PA, grandfather of Amanda May, Michael Montgomery, Sarah Montgomery Cooper, Chuck Montgomery, Rebekah Kilpatrick, Jeremiah Montgomery and the late Joshua Montgomery, and great-grandfather of 15 children. He was the brother of Walter Montgomery and the late Robert Montgomery: "The Ol' Sheriff."
Mr. Montgomery was employed as Supervisor by Price Brothers (formerly Lockjoint and Interpace) for 45 years. He earned many awards and certificates.
Mr. Montgomery enjoyed a great sense of humor, NASCAR, baseball, bingo, and golfing. He loved traveling, water skiing, and spending time at the beach. He also loved his friends, Haven Bare, RC Bledso, Wanda Horne, Lou White, Dave French, the late Denver Dog, all his friends he grew up with, and the people he made friends along the way. Mr. Montgomery also enjoyed funny t-shirts.
A Graveside service will be held on Friday, December 22, 2023, at 11:00 AM, at Harford Memorial Gardens, 3839 Aldino Road, Aberdeen, MD.
