Judge Wm. Breuer Dead
Word reached here Wednesday that Judge William Breuer had died that morning at his home at Red Bird following an illness of several months.
Judge Brewer was an old and highly respected citizen of our county, a splendid man and father of a fine family of children. During his lifetime he served two terms as Judge of the County Court, Southern District, and one term as State Representative in the south General Assembly.
He was born in Germany, coming to America when a small boy, live for a time in St. Louis, then for several years at Oweneville where he worked at the blacksmith trade, later moving to Red Bird.
He was married in 1858 to Miss Eda Medlock. Was the father of 12 children, of whom 2 daughters are dead. The surviving children are: Frank of Cleaverville; Paul of Red Bird; Judge R. A Breuer of Hermann: Dr. Wm. Breuer of St. James; Louis of Rolla; Dr Eugene Breuer, of Newburg: Mrs Barbara McIntosh, of Red Bird; Mrs. Mary Sorrell, of Cleaverville; Mrs. Serena Sewell and Mrs. Stella Kinkende, of Red Bird. He had lived on the farm where he died ever since marriage. Mrs. Breuer died four years ago. He also leaves one brother, two half brothers, ?? grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.
The funeral will be today (Friday).
Services will be held at the home at 9 a.m.
