Funeral service for John William Jones will be 2 p.m., Wed., May 25, at the River of Life Assembly of God, Inola, with Rev. Willis Backwater officiating. Burial will follow at McClain Cemetery, south of Locust Grove. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Tues. 1-8 p.m.
John died Sat., May 21, 2005 at Claremore Regional Hospital at the age of 60.
The son of Lee and Sylvia (Luper) Jones was born April 1, 1945, in Siloam Springs, AR. He graduated from high school in 1965 in Little Kansas, OK. On July 1, 1965, John married Ruth Ann McClain in Jay. They lived in Tulsa before moving to Inola in 1974. John was a welder for Thermal Engineering, Inc., retiring this past year. He enjoyed fishing and hunting with his son and grandson.
John is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Billy and Claude Jones; and sister, Lelah Fay.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth of the home; son, Sammy Jones and wife, Susie of Inola; grandchild, Logan Jones of Inola; brothers: Harold, Rau, and Tolly Jones all of Kansas, OK; sisters: Margie Scott of Tulsa, Nora Mae Brewer of Tulsa, and Velma Wofford of Leach.
