The Holton Recorder, April 10, 1972 Services were held at 10 o'clock at Immaculate Conception Church in St. Marys for Mrs. Blanche B. Haug, formerly of St. Marys, who passed away March 15 in Aurora, Colo., after a long illness.Mass of the Resurrection was celebrated in her memory on March 17th in St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Aurora, where she was a member.She belonged to the Altar and Rosary societies at the church, and was also a member of St. Thomas Seminary Auxiliary and Fitzsimmons Hospital Sodality in Denver.Born Sept. 15, 1884, the daughter of Emanuel and Welthy Jane Johnson Becker, at Seneca, she spent her early life in that community. On May 2, 1905, she was married to August Bernard Haug at Seneca. He passed away July 6, 1959. Also preceding her in death was a son, Walter, who died in infancy in 1916, and a daughter, Mrs. Eunice Marstall, who passed away in 1970.In 1919, she, with her husband and family, moved to the Emmett community where she lived until 1935. They then moved to St. Marys, where she resided until 1966, when she went to Aurora, Colo. to make her home with a daugher and her family. Survivors include seven sons: C. B (Cyril), Florissant, Mo., Paul, Burbank, Calif., Ralph, St. Marys, Elmer, Topeka, Arthur M., Kansas City, Mo., and Robert, Wichita; five daughters: Mrs. Marcella Hrenchir, Hoyt, Mrs. Mildred Borgeson, Kansas City, Mo., Mrs. Rachel Sumner, Emmett, Mrs. Lucille Jones, Kanas City, Kansas, and Mrs. Beatrice (Betty) Kauffman, Aurora; a sister, Sister Mary of St. Alberta, St. Louis, Mo. a brother, Guy G. Becker, Enid, Okla; 53 grandcildren, 76 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandcild; and many relatives and friends.Burial was in Mt.Calvary Cemetery with Verschelden Funeral Home of St. Marys and Aurora-Chase Mortuary of Aurora in charge of arrangements.Casketbearere were the sons. Mass servers were grandsons, Jeff Haug, St. Marys and John Heshion of Liberty, Mo. John also served as lector. Father Al Rockers was the celebrant with Father William Kauffman of Holton, assisting at Communion.Rosary service was held at Verschelden Funeral Home on Sunday, March 19 at 7 p. m.
