Olive Mildred Holmes
Olive Mildred Holmes, 69, longtime Garden City resident, died Tuesday, Sept. 10, 1996, at St. Catherine Hospital.

Born July 4, 1927, at Montezuma, she was the daughter of Henry E. and Nettie Florence Beatty Eastman.

Mrs. Holmes was a retired ward clerk at St. Catherine Hospital. A Garden City resident since 1956, moving from Cimarron, she attended the Nazarene Church.

She married Ivan Leroy Holmes on March 18, 1950, at Cimarron. He survives. Other survivors are two sons, Terry Holmes, Topeka, and Robert Holmes, Dexter; a daughter, Carolyn Nesselhuf, LaJunta, Colo.; two sisters, Enid Sands, Cimarron, and Elsie Harrier, Rapid City, S.D.; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Price and Sons Funeral Home, with the Rev. Harold Wedel officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, Montezuma.

Visitation will be at the funeral home from 6 to 9 tonight, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. to service time Friday Memorials are to MASH Hospice, in care of the funeral home.
