Sarah Ruth Goble, 96, died Sunday (Aug. 19, 2001) in Alexandria, Va., where she was a resident. She had lived most of her life in the Laud area in Whitley County. Mrs. Goble was born April 1, 1905, to Charles Edward and Elizabeth Wilcox. She married Ray Enos Goble in 1935; he died in 1968. She and her husband farmed in Whitley County and she had also worked in a poultry processing plant. She later worked as a nurse-companion. She moved to Alexandria, Va., in 1997 to be near her nephew, J. Robert Lyons. He survives. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Eberhard Cemetery near Columbia City. DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home, Columbia City, is in charge of arrangements.
