Robert J Aab, 81, died at 6:55 am Feb 12, 2003, at SRMC.
He married P Kathleen Prater on Sept 12, 1957, who survives.
Mr Aab was a farmer and retired in 1980 as a welder from Clark Equipment. He was a member of Waynesfield Baptist Church, Waynesfield. He was a life member of VFW Post 1275, American Legion Post 96 and the Right for Life. He was an Army veteran of WWII, where he received the Purple Heart. He played Santa for his family and at other community events.
Survivors include three daughters, Sharon M Gist of Russells Point, Dana M Winegardner of Pueblo, CO and Rhonda G (Robert) Mowery of Lima; two sons, P Michael (Barb) Holbrook of Lima and Adam G (Mary) Holbrook of Col Grove; a brother, George (Bea) Aab of Lima; two sisters, Thelma Brewer of Phoenix and Alice Eileen Lyle of Miami; and 17 grandchildren, and 25 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Russell Aab.
Services will begin at 10 am Saturday at Waynesfield Baptist Church, Waynesfield. The Rev Don Smith will officiate. Burial will be in St Matthew Lutheran Cemetery, near Cridersville, with military rites by VFW Post 1275.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm today at Chiles & Sons-Laman Funeral Homes, Wayne Street Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Waynesfield Baptist Church.
