JAMES FRANKLIN LANE, of Huntingdon, R.D. #1, died on Monday afternoon, January 27, 1964, at 3:30 o'clock in the Altoona Veterans Hospital where he had been a patient since January 23rd. He had been in failing health since November of 1963. Born May 11, 1919, in Wood, he was the son of Jay Lane of Pittsburgh and Mrs. John (Elsie) Greenland, Huntingdon. He was united in marriage to Norma Yohn (first wife deceased) of Altoona in March 1950. His wife survives, along with his parents and the following children: Mrs. Beverly Lanciano, James Lane of Philadelphia; William Lane, FL; Pvt Robert Lane, Fort Benning, GA; Deborah, Mary Ann and Joseph all at home. Also surviving are four grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Gerald (Lenora) Feagley, Mrs. Wallace (Wanda) Parker, and Jay Richard, all of Pittsburgh, PA, and Mrs. Charles (Donna) Weaver, FL. Mr. Lane was a member of the First Methodist Church in Huntingdon and was a Word War II Veteran, having entered the US Navy in 1943. For the past 26 years, he has been employed by the PA Railroad as a conductor. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 31, at 2 PM, from the Peters Funeral Home in Huntingdon with Rev. Elwood C. Zimmerman officiating. Interment will be made in Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 PM on Thursday and one hour prior to the funeral on Friday.
