Emerson Hubert "E.H." Guinn, 74, of Lenoir City, formerly of Athens, died Friday, Feb. 1, 2002, at Ft. Sanders Parkwest Hospital in Knoxville.

A native and former resident of McMinn County and resident of Lenoir City since 1957, he was the son of the late E.K. and Lena Morgan Guinn and was preceded in death by one son, Joseph Carl Guinn. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Lenoir City and a retired employee of Martin Marietta Energy Systems. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U. S. Navy and enjoyed gardening and woodworking.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Effie Mae Carpenter Guinn of Lenoir City; two daughters and one son-in-law, Sandra Guinn of Lenoir City, and Virginia Sue "Gina" and Greg Head of Plainfield, Ind.; and three grandchildren, Katy, Amy, and Jason Head.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Michael Gregory officiating. Burial will follow in Tranquillity Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
