He was a president of Falcon Land Co., Charleston. He attended Elizabeth Memorial United Methodist Church in Charleston. He was born in Logan and came to Charleston in 1986. He was a veteran of Vietnam, serving as a pilot in the U.S. Air Force, where he received the Distinguished Flying Cross, as his father did previously in World War II. He was a graduate of Logan High School, the U.S. Air Force Academy and Air Force Pilot Training. He as a lifetime member of the U.S. Air Force Academy Association of Graduates (USAFA-AOG). William still loved to fly and ride motorcycles and was an avid history buff, but most importantly, he was a loving father and husband.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, William J. and Niddie J. Abraham.
He is survived by his wife, Betts; children, Sara, David and Katie; and one brother, Rick, of Chapmanville.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 31, 2004, at Elizabeth Memorial United Methodist Church, Charleston, with the Rev. Frank Shomo and the Rev. Marvan Frame, officiating. A reception will follow the service at the church. Burial will be at the U.S. Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs, Colo.
