Christine was born in England and came to Texas after she married Paul Ray May in World War II.

MAYS , CHRIS Born in Bedford, England, on April 25, 1923, Christine met her G.I. husband, Paul Mays , while he was serving in WW II. After the war, traveling with only her infant, she sailed to USA on a ship staffed by German POWs, then journeyed to Texas to meet her new in-laws and a new culture. In spite of US naturalization, Chris never gave up hot tea, plum pudding, and a love for English things. She enthusiastically dedicated herself to God, to church, to volunteer work, and to her family. From 1981-1987, she lovingly cared for her disabled Paul . As a widow, Chris lived out her years with vigor, vitality, and purpose. Survivors: David, Tim, Susan, Tommy and all her family in Texas and England. In lieu of flowers, donations to FUMC DeSoto or Salvation Army. Services will be held Friday, August 22, 2003 at 1:00 PM, FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 310 Roaring Springs. De Soto, TX.
