Sandra Haxby Faraday, 63, passed away 24 July 2005 in Salmon Idaho. Sandra was born 18 November 1941 in Declo, the sixth of eight children born to Wilbur and Hildagarde Peters Haxby. She grew up in Hayburn and graduated from Minidoka High School with the Class of 1960. While in high school, Sandy was the best debater on the high school debate team. She attended college in Pocatello for a year and was united in marriage to Charles B. Faraday III on 2 February 1962 in Elko, Nevada. Four children, Shellie, Tracy, Brenda and Scott were born to this union. They lived in Paul, Idaho Falls, Twin Falls and moved to Salmon in 1969. After four towns and four children, Sandra said she was not moving again. She worked at the V-1 gas station in 1971 with Scott by her side. She continued until 2003 when the gas station closed. Sandy worked at the Stagecoach Motel, Motel Deluxe, Sensations Salon and the Lemhi After School Program. In 1977, Sandra joined the Anna Rebekah's Lodge. When the kids were young she was a Jaycette, serving as president and enjoyed the many events planned with family and friends. As a softball coach, Sandy had champion teams. The kids didn't feel like they had to win, Sandy just made it fun. She was proud to be a Salmon Booster for the youth in this community, anytime it involved children she was a part of it. The winter months were spent at the bowling alley on the Women's League. Sandy played until her elbow gave up. Had she been able to replace her arm she may still be out there. Sandra is survived by her husband, Charles of Salmon; three daughters, Shellie Faraday of Salt Lake City, Utah, Tracy(Charles)Martin of Riverton, Wyoming, Brenda(Steve)Fry of Colorado Springs, Colorado; a son, Scott Faraday of Pasadena, California; four grandchildren, Courtney and Celsey Martin of Riverton and Sasha and Garrett Fry of Colorado Springs; three brothers, Jack(Lena)Haxby of Busl, Jim(Sher)Haxby of Scottsdale, Arizona, Jerry(Ann)Haxby of Blackfoot; three sisters, Jean Dill of Porterville, California, Linda(Don)McFarland of Pismo Beach, California, Judy(Gary)Sower of McCall and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur and Hildagarde Haxby and a sister, Margaret Ann Justesen. Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian Church 28 July 2005 with the Reverend Stan DeLong officiating. Burial was in the Salmon Cemetery under the auspices of the Anna Rebekah Lodge No. 14. Jones & Casey Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
