  Donald W. Ackerman, 79, of Troy, Ill., died Sunday, November 14, 2004, at his residence.
  Mr. Ackerman, along with his wife, Elaine, owned and operated Ackerman's Restaurant. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Troy, Ill.; a past member of the Troy Lions Club; and a member of the American Legion Post 708. Mr. Ackerman was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran.
  He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl W. and Melanie (Theise) Ackerman; a grandson Kevin Simpson, and a brother William Akcerman, who died February 6, 2003.
  Surviving are his wife Elaine, whom he married July 7, 1951, a son, four daughters (living) Simpson, (living) Hill, (living) Jameson, and (living) Dunigan; a brother, a sister (living) Woker, and 17 grandchildren.
